Half of Footer Poured Today

Well, we were able to pour half of the footer today, and we are coloring it so that we can use it as a large test area since we weren't happy with the results of the cellar slab.  We used a slightly different color for the base of the footer mix, and in addition, put in half as much color per yard of concrete making it lighter also.

So, the base color is much lighter than it was in the cellar slab, and now, we will wait longer before attempting to add a secondary color on top allowing it to dry a bit more to avoid having a single uniform color as we got in the cellar...

Here are several pictures of the footer prior to pouring, the process of pouring, and the smoothing of the surface afterward.  I'll be going back out shortly to play with the colors -- a bit like fingerpainting ;)  And, I have four different colors mixed up as a thick water solution to use squeeze bottles and then trowel it in just a bit.  This still won't tell us exactly what we're going to get on the slab because we can't use the power trowel
