The Footer is Dug

Well, we are definitely making progress!  Today, the footer was dug, and we will be pouring the footer on Monday -- or that is the plan.  The only issue could be rain.  It did sprinkle a bit today, maybe even some actual rain, but so far, that is probably good as the ground is getting so dry it is starting to crack around the basement.

Two minor mistakes today -- neither is a big deal, but I forgot to mark out the front porch so that they could dig the footer for that today...  We're going to try to get that done either over the weekend or first thing Monday morning so that we can go ahead and pour the entire footer on Monday...

And, I forgot that there was some backfill around the storm cellar that had not bee finished, and so we'll have to now wait until the footer and walls are finished so that we can use the garage door entrance to get a loader across the footer...

If those are the only mistakes I make, then I'll be thrilled!
