Interior Framing: Almost Finished

We are nearing completion of interior framing, but we have some walls that have been built but not put in place until the tubs / showers are in place...

Below, left, is standing in the dining room looking toward the half bathroom, and the pantry and laundry room are behind it. Then, on the right, is in the dining room looking toward the library wall.

Below, on the left, is the wall between the library and hall bathroom (on the ground because we need to get the tub in first). Then, center, is standing in the hall bath looking back to the master closet (his / hers). And, last on the right, is standing in the library looking forward to the front wall.

Interior Framing Continues

Here are some pictures of the framing progress...  We have the main walls framed for 6 rooms, and the rest of the walls should go up quickly -- we need to delay long enough to get the tubs and showers in place...
First, the first main wall -- early this morning.  Then, Bradley's bedroom...

 Two of Breanna's room...

Kendrick's bedroom, then the family room, and the living room...

Two of the kitchen...

Roof is on -- Finally have Pictures!

Well, after getting back from vacation, I was able to get some pictures, and we worked on getting set up to frame the interior walls today.  We have one wall finished, and the base board attached to the concrete.  We will continue with walls tomorrow...

Here are several pictures...

Below is where the trusses are spaced so that the stairs will go up to the second attic (storage and future rec room).

Vacation in the Lone Star Sate

We have had a good visit here in Texas this week, and we have a few pictures that we took as a flavor of Texas...

On the left is a rancher loading with his stock trailer out in the field rounding up cows.
On the right is a cowboy church with an arena out on the right.

A interesting combination...

Texas Longhorn ranch...

Now them are some Texas LONG Horns!

Roof is on -- No Pictures!

Well, I have been on vacation this week, but I have been in contact with my framer, and the trusses are all on the house now, and the roof is on.  Being a metal roof, it was a relatively quick and easy roofing job...

The work will now wait until I get back on site -- probably Tuesday or Wednesday...  And, unfortunately, pictures of the progress will also have to wait until then...

Setting Trusses

Unfortunately, I am not in Ohio to take pictures today, but I just talked with John Miller, one of my Amish framers, and they have set about 9 of the trusses, and they have things going along just fine...

So, I am hoping to see some good progress when I get back next week!

Deer Hunting...

While getting the van ready to leave for the weekend, I saw two Amish men driving their buggies down the road, and then I noticed something hanging out of the back... So, I hurried up and got ready so I could drive down the road and get the following picutres of them...

Then, I drove over to the house, and took the following of the front porch (which is not poured yet) and the storm cellar ceiling (which they poured yesterday)...

Storm Cellar Ceiling...

We got the storm cellar ceiling poured today, so now we're ready get the rest of the OSB on the walls, and then they can get the house wrap on.

I'll be away for a few days next week, so they should have the trusses up and the roof on by the time I get back!

Here are the pictures today...

Trusses on Hold

Well, it rained again last night, so we didn't want to risk getting the crane stuck in the mud today.  Work on the trusses will resume on Monday...

Meanwhile, we're going to get most of the remaining concrete poured tomorrow.  The ceiling of the storm cellar is going to be concrete, and we're also going to get the front porch poured...

Setting Trusses -- Well, Started Anyway

We got started to set trusses, and we got one up, and it started raining.  We waited a little while, and it just wasn't letting up.  So, rather than risking someone slipping and getting hurt, we decided to wait until the weather is better.
